The breakfast was nice, and included in the room rate. Hotel was well placed, no parking though - but parking on side street as a "pay and display" or accross the road in a parking building

The room we had was very small - nothing like the pictures!!! Guess they only show the suites in their pictures!

    Staff very friendly, great location

Room too small for a wardrobe - how bizarre!

the night staff (the boy) is very unkind and useless. the room we had (on the second floor) is the smallest room we have ever had. its price is not according to what you really find. not very clean. the lady (isabelle) was nice and helpful and changed our room.

The hotel was a fair price and within striking distance of the city centre. The staff were very friendly, helpful and the english breakfast in the morning was excellent and hit the spot. Very comfy beds with memory foam mattresses.

Probably my fault but didnt realise when I booked that bathroom was shared.

The bedroom sink was chocked full of human hair and the plug was missing. Yugh

The room was a lovely suprise with a four poster bed and lovely bathroom . The breakfast was good and a nice atmoshphere in the hotel.

This hotel appeared lovely on the website. However, when we arrived it looked tired and dated. Our room was not very clean and it smelled musty. The toilet was not cleaned properly and it stank of pee! The carpet was filthy and the tea tray was coverded in dust. Could not wait to leave.

Staff are friendly and helpful. We arrived a little earlier than the check in time, so our room wasn't ready, but the lady that greeted us took our bags and let us leave them in the reception office to we were free to go and have lunch while she made up our room. We stayed in the Barmoral suite, it was lovely, very big. Very comfortable king size bed. I was sligtly concerned that our room was right on the busy road and street - I am a light sleeper, but can honestly say that I had a great peaceful sleep, no disturbance at all! We we're in Edinburgh for the Bon Jovi concert at Murrayfield. Hotel perfect location for Murrayfield, only a 10 min walk. Hotel is perfect to strolling into town for shopping, sight seeing, bars etc. Breakfast was great too. Would have no hesitations to stay here again. Oh, it is a 2 min walk from the Haymarket train station too.

Basically pleased but 2 small points.1. The door bell did not work so used knocker. 2. Room would benefit from a small table or desk, but liked suitcase wrack. Staff friendly and helpful.

The helpful staff were amazing. I arrived late, the aircompany had misplaced me luggage and it was very cold and wet. They hada lovely warm room, great breakfast, and were ready with local knowledge to get me to the castle while they organised the luggage problem. Wonderful! I stayed for 2 nights and the service only got better. My port was carried upstairs to my door for me too.Great location to access all the Old Town sites; bus outside the door; Haymarket Pub over the road; on the airport transporter route; and opposite the rail station. Perfect.

Disgusting place. I didnt think hotel accommodation like this existed anymore. The room I had was clean but needed renovation . I shared the bathroom/ shower room with several other rooms. The bathroom didnt appear to have been cleaned for several days, there were 4 pieces of soap in the soap dish in the shower, there were urine staines on the toilet and the waste bin was full. I was lucky thay I appeared to be the only person staying in the hotel at the time. Also the breakfasts did not start until 8.30 . The breakfast itself was ok.

Right next to Haymarket station, this is a good place to catch the bus to the airport and yet it is still close to Princes Street. Free WiFi is included.
